Dr. Robert L. Groat, MD
Dr. Groat is a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School (Grimsley ‘62);
Davidson College (‘66) and Harvard Medical School (‘70). He performed his
medical internship at Duke University Medical Center and his Ophthalmology
Residency at Washington University Medical School, Barnes Hospital.

Dr. Groat was the Chief of Ophthalmology at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital
from 1986-1994. He is a member of the American Academy of
Ophthalmology, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Guilford County
Medical Society.

Dr. Sandy T. Cohen, MD
Dr. Cohen graduated (summa cum laude) with a B.S. in Biology from Emory
University in 1993, and from the Medical College of Richmond, Virginia in
1997.

Dr. Cohen has had numerous publications, as well as extensive research
experience at the Medical College of Virginia in Ophthalmology.

Dr. John S. Yoakum
Dr. Yoakum graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in
Biology (‘91). He received his Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College
of Optometry in 1995.

Dr. Yoakum has also received Advanced Clinical Training at the THE EYE
INSTITUTE in Philadelphia. He has a certification “Residency in Cornea and
Contact Lenses” (‘96).

Dr. Yoakum regularly lectures around the country on numerous contact lens
topics.
